About the artist:
1930-2016
One of the most prominent and beloved Czech painters, graphic artists, and illustrators. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) under Antonín Pelc. His work is globally unique, characterized by unmistakable grotesque humor and a fascination with history, exotic locales, and the animal kingdom. Born’s style masterfully combines precise draftsmanship with playful exaggeration. He received numerous international awards for his work, including his achievements in animated film at festivals in Montreal and Annecy.
